Remi delves into the heart of game development, fine-tuning mechanics to ensure our game is as engaging as it is seamless. His dedication to crafting an immersive experience is a beacon of our team’s passion for excellence.

In parallel, Sindre channels his creativity into Power Page styling and design, focusing on creating a visually appealing and intuitive user interface. His efforts to blend form with function are pivotal, ensuring that our project not only captivates but is also accessible and enjoyable for users. Solo Adventurer No More!

In the vast landscape of the ACDC Hackathon event, there exists a lone adventurer, navigating the intricate realms of technology with only a keyboard and a dream. Meet David, a one-person team determined to conquer the challenges of solo development!

As fate would have it, our paths crossed, and we saw the spark of brilliance in David’s endeavors. Recognizing the potential for growth and innovation, we decided to extend a helping hand to our solo coder friend and include him in our team! Remarkable team spirit, don’t you think?

Coommunity Champioon with Cake

Several teams had risen before dawn, and it had been hours since they had breakfast. Sensing it was an opportune moment for a treat, Team Boouvet decided to bring out some cake. Dennis had prepared a delightful French apple cake. Ginevra took the initiative to visit each team, offering cake and words of encouragement.

She even gathered snacks from the other teams!

French Apple Cake – Recipe from a French aunt I know from Cannes, ranked by priority:

Apples: 

  • Peel at least 5 apples and cut into 8 small wedges, cut away the hard parts.
  • Flambé apples with butter, sprinkle sugar on it. Feel free to pour a little cognac or Grand Marnier liqueur – pour 6-7 spoons of cognac/liqueur.
  • Simmer and stir until the apples become soft. (approx. 5 min).

Cake:

  • 12 tablespoons of wheat flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoon baking powder mixed well with wheat flour
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 7 tablespoons milk
  • 6 tablespoons soy oil/sunflower oil
  • 3 large eggs (4 small)
  • Whisk everything into a batter, best result with an electric whisk.
  • Bake at 180 degrees for 22 minutes. (Add extra last minutes and monitor it so that it does not burn the top).
  • Take out and put aluminum foil over and let it bake the dough, usually 10 more minutes. But poke a hole in the middle and feel if the dough is done enough).

Glaze:

  • Melt 100g butter in low heat from a small pot or microwave (not frying hot)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 raw egg
  • Stir and mix together. When the cake is done, let it rest for 10 minutes – brush the surface so that the glaze covers over.

    Serve with vanilla sauce if you want.

Each team member who enjoyed the cake is warmly invited to show their appreciation by giving Dennis a hug.

The team is maintaining their exceptional spirit, working tirelessly into the night and starting bright and early.

Of course, having warp pipes that burst with candy always boosts morale, even in the early hours.

Speaking of candy, we continue our role as community champions, assisting other teams with technical inquiries and, in turn, receiving support ourselves (shout out to Peaches and the Donkeys!).

We also focus on maintaining the judges’ blood sugar (and liquid) levels, something we believe is important for the community.

We also continue to help out in other ways, embodying the true spirit of the competition.

With this blog post we aim for the Community Champion Badge

We helped Evidi Power Platform Plumbers to figure out how to enable users to log in and sign out on a Power Pages site with the Blank Template.

They had started to develop this functionality from scratch and was stuck in the classic situation; when you don’t know what’s in the box it’s a fast track to recreate something you can get with the click of a button.

The insight we could provide that allowed them to progress in their project without wasting time recreating out-of-the-box functionality, was that the Header Web Template contains code that automatically display a “Sign in” link at the top of the header to Unauthenticated users. When a user logs in the link is replaced by a “Sign out” link and they get access to their profile page automatically. These pages; the sign in page and the profile page aren’t accessible to edit through the designer, but you can edit them using content snippets and site settings.

With our help the Evidi Power Platform Plumbers team saved a lot of time with our help, that they can now spend on developing their awesome solution.
