EcoCraft is a Minecraft Bedrock based educational experience created for Non-Governmental Organization’s (NGO’s) working with children aged 6 to 9. It teaches simple sustainability concepts through play. Designed to captivate children, keep educators in the loop and to help NGO facilitators in their important objectives, the solution provides a fun, innovative way to ensure the next generation is aware of their responsibilities to look after our precious environments and resources

Key Features

Innovative, Low-Code User Interfaces

  • Facilitators operate an EcoCraft Control Room built with Power Apps, providing a modern, clean, accessible interface.
  • EcoCraft will also include two Copilot Studio agents: EcoGuide, which provides mission explanations and facilitator talking points, and Session Narrator, which provides spoken-style narration in simple, easy to understand language.
  • Both educators and facilitators are able to drilldown into information at any time leveraging the latest Microsoft Fabric capabilities.

Scalable pro-code automation

  • Power Automate will be used to orchestrate simple and more complex actions, bridging together Microsoft Dataverse and Minecraft.
  • Microsoft Azure and Azure Function apps host our required middleware services to facilitate communication between EcoCraft and our Minecraft Bedrock Server via Remote Console (RCON)
  • Effective use of Power Platform Pipelines and Azure DevOps to realise Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI / CD)

DON’t REINVENT THE WHEEL

  • Dynamics 365 Customer Insights Journeys will send automated follow-up notifications via the educators, faciliators and child’s preferred channel (Email, SMS or WhatsApp).
  • LinkMobility’s global platform will be used to handle the sending of SMS and WhatsApp communications
  • DocumentsCorePack will be used to generate completion certification, that can then be automatically distributed to both the child and their parent.

Key Personas

Children

Children are the primary users of our solution. They are given “missions” to complete directly in Minecraft, which are then tracked behind the scenes and fed back into EcoCraft. They are also receive award certifications for successfully completing each mission.

Teachers

Using EcoCraft, teachers can be kept fully appraised of all missions for their roster of students, either individually or at a group level. They are also kept fully up to date of progress via email notifications.

NGO facilitator

As the primary administrators of the solution, they can orchestrate the “missions” they want teachers and children to complete, as well as get a total view of all activity at any time, using the EcoCraft app.
